History

Dale and Jan Peterson started the Dale E Peterson rental division in 1987 when they signed up their first rental condominium at East Pass Towers. This started an organization that has become the Dale E Peterson Vacations that we know today. The company purchased its corporate office in 1989. This is the same corporate office used by the company today at 321 Hwy 98E in downtown Destin. The company continued to grow through the late 80's and early 90's as the Destin economy was growing. In 1995 Dale E Peterson Realty was involved in rolling out the first website to promote the Destin area. The site is www.destinfl.com and is still in operation promoting the Destin area to the world on the World Wide Web.

DEP was also the first property management company in this area to accept on line bookings. We were the second company of our type in the country to accept on line reservations. The company was known as Dale E Peterson Realty until 1997 when the rental division was carved out of the realty company and called Destin Resorts. In 2000 the name of the rental company was changed to Dale E Peterson Vacations. This is because the rental and management operations of the company were dispersed well beyond the geographic boundaries of Destin. Dale E Peterson Vacations currently manages 550 units for vacation rental and over 2000 units under our association management. In addition to our corporate offices in Destin we operate a reservations call center, 13 remote offices and check in locations with 1 of the check in locations operating 24X7.
